It seems I have committed the cardinal sin of being the modern Doctor Who fan. I let myself get carried away with my expectations, and on top of that I forgot that modern Who isn't being written for the old-school fans with decades of continuity at their fingertips, or at least not entirely for them. I've just learned that Elisabeth Sladen passed away yesterday. Evidently she was struggling with cancer, but no one outside her family knew that. I didn't know her, of course; I'm just a fan. A while back, the BBC commissioned a couple of computer games based on the current series of Doctor Who (that is, the Eleventh Doctor and Amy). As I understand it, the games are free in the U.K. because of BBC licensing rules.
